Amanda joined our Autumn Birds of Prey workshop as part of her birthday treat. It was her first time attending a photography workshop, but as you can see, Amanda has a real talent!

By spot metering on the owl's chest, she was able to achieve a studio-like image of the barn owl.

Our birds of prey workshops are suitable for beginners & experienced photographers alike. As well as honing composition skills, it is also an excellent opportunity to experiment with light & obtain some stunning portrait shots of iconic raptors & owls.

The buzzard was the star of the show for many of our guests. Amanda was able to achieve this shot by getting down low in the grass.

My personal favourite, however, is this gorgeous portrait of Lily the Barn Owl.

Amanda said “This was my first time taking part in a photography workshop, & I learned so much about my camera, which I have only had for a short time. I would do it all again in a heartbeat!”

It's always great to see clients coming out of their comfort zone & experimenting with monochrome. I think the is especially effective.
