One of the Barn Owls typical of the kind of images that may be captured on the NaturesLens Bird of Prey Workshops

April 2017 saw David & I running the first of our Welsh Bird of Prey Workshops of 2017. This photography workshop is a particular favourite of mine because it is so relaxed & intimate due to the group size & everyone comes away with some fabulous images & new friendships made.

We brought some new props along to the workshop to mix things up a bit. These included a milk churn, a couple of storm lanterns & a variety of different wheels – perfect for getting a little creative as well as honing one’s composition skills.

We’ve got a single place that has become available for our Autumnal Birds of Prey Workshop in Mid-Wales, the place costs £200 & includes an evening session followed by a full-day.

Short Eared Owl on Rocks

We have two photography sessions, one, for several hours on the evening of Saturday 8th October, followed by a full day on Sunday 9th October. This is with a falconer that we have worked with for the last 4 year; this year, we are hoping for some autumnal colours & settings for the owls & other birds of prey, we will focus mainly on British species, but the fantastic Great Grey Owl will, of course, be making at least one appearance as well.

We are pleased to announce an intensive Great Grey Owl photography workshop on the evening prior to our main September Welsh Birds of Prey Photography Workshop, on 27th September 2015. It is our intention for this workshop to focus on an extended session with a beautiful Great Grey Owl, an owl which is always a favourite subject on our owl workshops. The emphasis will be on pushing the boundaries of what is possible with this stunning bird. The Great Grey Owl or Great Gray Owl is a very large owl, documented as the world’s largest species of owl by length. It is distributed across the Northern Hemisphere. Great Grey Owl in flight as photographed during the NaturesLens Great Grey Owl Photography workshop Read more
