Photographic Conditions Bulgaria’s butterfly season peaks June through August, when clearings, woodland edges, & flower-rich meadows hold the highest species diversity. Early mornings are ideal for dew-covered subjects on low vegetation – allowing controlled aperture work & clean backgrounds. Working distances of 30-60cm are typical; a 100-180mm macro lens is the core tool, with a diffused ring flash or reflector useful for bright midday sessions.
