2019 – Rollers, Bee-Eaters & more of Bulgaria Photography Holiday

A European Bee Eater Which Has Just Captured A Butterfly Typical Of The Type Of Image That May Be Captured During The Rollers & Bee Eaters Of Bulgaria Photography Holiday
Join Alan & Georgi on an exciting photography excursion suited to wildlife enthusiasts, photographing two of the most colourful European birds – the Roller & the Bee-Eater. We have designed this tour for keen photographers who would like to focus on Rollers & Bee-Eaters but to have access to photograph some of the other species of birdlife found in Bulgaria.
Our trip has been timed to coincide with their mating period so you should have lots of opportunities to photograph behavioural activities such as courtship, mating, food transfer nest preparation etc.
Join NaturesLens to capture images of Rollers, Bee-Eaters & more of Bulgaria, in Bulgaria, during the Rollers, Bee-Eaters & more of Bulgaria photography holiday. This photography holiday is of 5 night/6 day duration on a Half Board, Non-Shared basis & costs £1199 per participant.
You will be based in Belene, a small town located near the Danube River in north-central Bulgaria where you will spend 5 night. The hotel is small, with beautiful views of the river from your balcony. The food is delicious & there is even a swimming pool! But best of all, there is a large Bee-Eater colony & several pairs of breeding Rollers, just 20 minutes drive away from the hotel.
The days will consist of early starts & late evenings to take advantage of the best light. When you feel you have had your fill of Rollers & Bee-Eaters, you can take advantage of other opportunities such as photographing Lesser Gray & Red-backed Shrikes, Golden Oriole & other farmland & wetland birds.
We will also spend one day visiting a nearby island, to take opportunities to photograph Red-necked Grebe, Ferruginous Duck, Purple Heron & many more.
The target species for this photography tour are the Roller & Bee-Eater, but there are plenty of opportunities to capture images of other bird species such as Turtle Dove, Larks, Black-headed & Corn buntings, Black-headed Yellow Wagtail, Hoopoe, Green Woodpecker, Red-backed Shrike, Lesser Grey Shrike, Hoopoe & Syrian Woodpecker.
Working from dawn ’til dusk, with Alan & Georgi, watching & capturing images of this wonderful range of species in action, this is an experience you won’t want to miss!
Photographable Species: bee-eater, black-headed bunting., black-headed yellow wagtail, black-winged stilt, corn bunting, egret, european roller, ferruginous duck, garganey, great reed warbler, grebe, green woodpecker, hoopoe, lesser grey shrike, little ringed plover, penduline tit, pygmy cormorant, red-backed shrike, squacco heron, swan, syrian woodpecker, turtle dove, whiskered tern
