Mediterranean Wildlife of Andalucia Photography Holiday

An Iberian Lynx emerges from a rocky area photographed at the locations used for the NaturesLens Mediterranean Wildlife of Andalucia photography holiday
We are excited to be able to invite guests of NaturesLens to join us for this 7-night wildlife photography holiday to Andalucia & to photograph the Mediterranean Wildlife of the area, after all is the realm of the Spanish Imperial Eagle & the Black Vulture – plus if we are fortunate the Iberian Lynx.
We will spend time photographing the various mammals & birds found within the Sierra of Andujar.
Join NaturesLens to capture images of Mediterranean Wildlife of Andalucia including the Imperial Eagle & the Iberian lynx, in Spain, during the Mediterranean Wildlife of Andalucia photography holiday. This photography holiday is of 7 night/8 day duration on a Full Board, Non-Shared basis & costs £2999  £2749 per participant.
Throughout this wildlife photography holiday, we hope to be able to photograph Red Deer, Red-legged Partridge, Iberian Green Woodpecker, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Sardinian Warbler, Robin, Crested Tit, Great Tit, Blue Tit, Hawfinch, Rock Bunting, Dunnock, Goshawk, Sparrowhawk, Spanish Imperial Eagle & more besides.
The highlight is the possibility of spotting the elusive Iberian lynx – the world’s rarest cat.
As well as 4×4 safaris, we will use hides that have been established within the areas. One hide is located by a waterhole & species photographed here, including Iberian Lynx, Red Deer, Red-legged Partridge, Iberian Green Woodpecker, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Sardinian Warbler, Robin, Crested Tit, Great Tit, Blue Tit, Hawfinch, Rock Bunting, Dunnock plus more. Another hide has been placed for birds of prey & the lynx. Species photographed at this hide include Northern Goshawk, Common Buzzard, Griffon Vulture, Black Vulture, Spanish Imperial Eagle &amp, & the Iberian Lynx.
This wildlife photography holiday is ideal for photographers who hope to photograph one of the rarest cats in the world, the Iberian lynx. The typically small guest group size ensures that we have the best chance for encounters with this elusive cat. In addition to the hides, during the 4×4 safaris, we also search for the Iberian lynx on public & private land.
Thanks to colossal conservation efforts, the Iberian Lynx is back from the edge of extinction; however, only 900 individuals exist in the wild. The bulk of these are concentrated in the rugged & unspoilt regions of Southern Spain.
The Iberian Lynx is about twice as big as a large house cat; its hind legs are slightly longer than the front legs. The tail is short & has a black tip. The brown fur typically is made up of many tones.
Special Note – Please be aware that the Iberian Lynx is a rare & shy animal, so quiet & patience is required. The chance of a successful spotting is thought to be reasonable but is NOT in any way guaranteed.
For this reason, our itinerary will be flexible regarding the hide sessions & 4 x 4 safaris to give you the best chance of success.
All participants must be aware that these animals are timid & do not show themselves for long.
All that said, if you manage to photograph the Iberian Lynx, then this will be amongst the top wildlife encounters that you can experience & one that you will never forget because the Iberian lynx is genuinely, in our opinion, the most beautiful & rarest cat on our planet.
