2023 – Wildlife of South Africa & Namibia Photography Holiday

One of the leopards of Sabi Sands draped over a fallen tree photographed on the reserve used for the NaturesLens Leopards of Sabi Sands Photography Holiday
You are invited to join NaturesLens during April 2023 for a fabulous photography holiday to photograph the wildlife of South Africa & Namibia – with a particular focus on the leopards.
We will be staying within a private reserve with a fantastic lodge in an area of Sabi Sands; Vuyatela Lodge is the flagship luxury lodge of Djuma reserve, & is quite simply one of the most breathtaking & refreshing safari destinations in South Africa. Located on a small rise overlooking a dry river bed & dam where an endless variety of wildlife comes to drink every day, Vuyaltela is shrouded in the wilderness & embodies the essence of what it is to be African.
Vuyatela Lodge in all its splendour is arguably one of the most luxurious African bush experiences available, & towers above its bushveld counterparts with a unique & extraordinary combination of modern luxury & traditional African culture.
Join NaturesLens to capture images of the amazing wildlife of both Sabi Sands & the Etosha Pan, in South Africa, during the Wildlife of South Africa & Namibia photography holiday. This photography holiday is of 15 night/16 day duration on a Full Board, Non-Shared basis & costs £7999  £7499 per participant.
You will be accommodated in one of five luxury suites, all with en-suite bathrooms, Vuyatela has redefined the meaning of an African safari, breaking the mould of “traditional” colonial-style décor by combining sleek modern design with innovative, funky African art & lots of vibrant colours. Collectively these suites can accommodate ten people, but we will not be filling the lodge, we will have a maximum of 7 photographers, including any guides, in the safari vehicle so for that reason we will have a maximum of 7 people only in Vuyatela.
Each guest suite has a private plunge pool, expansive viewing deck & freestanding “khaya” – a lounge with a tea & coffee station & wood-burning stove for those cold winter’s mornings & evenings.
The main lodge area features a cosy indoor lounge & enormous fireplace (perfect for cold winter’s evenings), fabulous dining room with its hallmark chandelier made from Coke bottles opening onto an extended deck & boma area, complete with firepit, swimming pool & funky steel & timber viewing “tower” overlooking the dam. If we’re lucky, we might spot one of Djuma’s famous leopards stalking here!
For the duration of our stay, between the dates of 29th April - 14th May 2023, we will have the services of a chef on-site, who will be preparing some delicious meals for our group!
Djuma offers more than 7000ha of private land, bordering right onto the western boundary of the Kruger National Park. This part of the African bush is a hidden gem, offering some of the most beautiful game viewing in Africa. This is the home of the legendary Big Five which roam these unspoilt lands, Lion, leopard, elephant, rhino & buffalo can be spotted from the comfort & safety of our open game viewing vehicles, accompanied by some of the most experienced safari guides & trackers in the business.
As the dawn begins to break at the start of another magical day in the African bush, we will head to the vehicle & it is time to head out into the wilds to see what’s happening, making the most of the coolest part of the day & the magical early morning light.
At the end of the day, as the sun begins to dip, & the heat of the African day decreases, we will head out as this is the perfect time to spot the predators that call Djuma their home, taking in the magical “golden hour” of light for the ideal photographic opportunities.
For photographic direction, NaturesLens are incredibly pleased to have Clint Ralph leading this tour for us, Clint is a South African wildlife photographer of some note, who knows the Djuma reserve & the larger surrounding area very well.
NaturesLens offers keen wildlife photographers the chance to capture images of the impressive wildlife of Etosha National Park, you will be photographing the wildlife of this massive area as they thrive in their natural habitat; the waterholes offer the area’s best opportunities for both large & small game sightings.
Etosha National Park is home to some of the most common & at the same time some of the rarest wildlife species. Etosha means “place of dry water” & refers to a flat pan of about 5000 square kilometres which can be seen from space!
The massive pan, that makes up Etosha National Park, provides a stunning, parched, silver-white backdrop of shimmering mirages to an area of semi-arid grassland & large camel thorn trees mixed with Mopani trees.
The park boasts numerous waterholes, including both natural springs & fountains & others fed by human-made boreholes. During the dry winters, the wildlife relies on these waterholes scattered throughout the park, so sightings are far more reliable than anywhere else in Africa. Extensive treks of zebra & springbok can be seen mingling with oryx & bathing elephants at the larger waterholes. If we are lucky, we may even see rhino, elephant & lion drinking from the same pools.
Four of the Big Five can be seen amongst the Wildlife of Namibia within Etosha National Park. The areas with thicker vegetation are home to elephants, black rhino & even leopard. The lions are camouflaged in the pale-golden colour of the savannah.
The fleet-footed cheetah, rare black-faced impala, hyena, jackal, bat-eared fox, warthog & giraffe are just some of the other species that can be found here.
We will stay in an intimate tented camp that is a study in contrasts. Textures such as stone, suede, linen & steel have been used to create a setting that is sleek & modern but also inherently of the earth. All the tents are situated around a busy waterhole, where the wildlife come to quench their thirst directly in front of your tent.
The surrounding nature lends itself to long lazy afternoons spent relaxing on the sofas in the lounge watching the wildlife go by. When things heat up, cool down in the sparkling rim-flow swimming pool.
With a stunning main building & just seven luxury tents with en-suite bathrooms providing private, exclusive accommodation for our guests, coupled with the warmest of hospitality, sumptuous meals & first-class guides, this is the perfect trip for photographers wishing to capture images of the wildlife of Namibia.
The activities will be a mixture of traditional safari game drives & use of their fabulous water-level hide which has been placed in front of a waterhole offering a pretty impressive viewpoint & some fantastic photography of the wildlife of Namibia that comes to visit.
Photographable Species: bat-eared fox, buffalo, cheetah, elephant, giraffe, hyena, impala, jackal, leopard, lion, oryx, rhino, springbok, warthog, zebra

2022 – Majestic Tigers of India Photography Holiday

One Of Bandhavgarh's Beautiful Bengal Tigers In The Cooling Water Of A Pool Photographed During The NaturesLens Tigers Of Bandhavgarh Photography Holiday
NaturesLens invites you to join Pui Hang & take the opportunity to journey into the heart of India, in the pursuit of capturing the elusive Indian tiger on camera as it thrives within a protected national park. Open to both amateur & semi-professional wildlife photographers, our trip has been designed to offer guests unrivalled opportunities to photograph these amazing big cats within the national park, whilst also looking out for other native species such as the Indian gaur & langur monkeys.
Refined, using personal experience gained through visits to the reserve, over the past 8 years, our trip includes full board accommodation, jeep fees, park fees & airport transfers to make things as straightforward for you as possible, to ensure that you can make the most of this fantastic wildlife photography experience.
NOW INCLUDES A FULL-DAY JEEP SAFARI ACROSS ALL THREE ZONES OF BANDHAVGARH TIGER RESERVE!
Join NaturesLens to capture images of rich jungle dwelling wildlife, in India, during the Majestic Tigers of India photography holiday. This photography holiday is of 8 night/9 day duration on a Full Board, Non-Shared basis & costs £3999 per participant.
The majestic Indian tiger, a creature so magnificent & elusive, which has been suffering as a result of illegal poaching to the point of becoming an endangered species. NaturesLens invites you to experience these beautiful creatures first hand within a beautiful & mysterious Indian parkland, in a reserve famed for having the highest density of Tigers in India. The landscape offers dense jungle environments & open grassland intertwined with narrow tracks that you will navigate whilst capturing stunning images. You will encounter a range of other native species on the trip, such as leopards, Indian gaurs, langur monkeys & sloth bears as well as an array of beautifully colourful birds.
The park is located in a region of India steeped in complex history, with evidence of the political past of the area lying in ruins & monuments within the park. If you want to maximise your photographic opportunities, we can arrange a full day’s safari in private jeeps. Unlike the public, who are restricted to 3hr sessions in the park in the morning & afternoon, you will benefit from earlier entry & later exit, & an entire day within the park without having to leave, to ensure that you are able to make the most of tiger spotting opportunities at times when the park is quietest.
Many wildlife photography tours in these environments cram 3 or more people into one jeep, forcing individuals to lean over each other to take photographs, therefore compromising the quality of the images & the experience for individuals. However, we have ensured that only 2 guests travel in each jeep, giving you maximum freedom of movement to capture images from the optimum angle, as you experience the wonders of the park over the course of the day. Photography tuition will be provided as needed by Pui Hang, a NaturesLens leader, with knowledgeable wildlife guidance provided by a local expert.
Our guests are also housed in exquisite accommodation on a full board basis, providing you with comfort & excellent hospitality when you return from the game drives to relax, unwind, & look over your images. We have designed this tour to maximise time in the park spent spotting & capturing editorial quality photographs of tigers, whilst minimising travel time. With this in mind, airport transfers, jeep fees & park fees are also included in the cost of the tour, making things simple for you so that you can focus on making the most of your wildlife photography experience.
During these months, the parks have dried out. Temperatures will likely be above 30℃, & nudging towards 40℃. Meadows previously covered with lush grass have died back to expose landscapes covered in thick dusk, where water is scarce. Whilst it is tough, in our opinion, this is the best time of year time to visit, less foliage means the wildlife is more exposed, & little water allows our wonderful local guides & driver to predict tiger behaviour as they seek water out from the few remaining water sources in the reserve. For many, the landscapes don’t feel as picturesque, & drives can be uncomfortably hot.
Group size is limited, so book now to join us on this amazing adventure to come face to face with the majestic Indian tiger.
Photographable Species: asiatic jackal, bengal fox, black kite, black vulture, brown fish owl, crested serpent eagle, dhole, egyptian vulture, gaur, grey mongoose, indian roller, jungle cat, langur monkey, leopard, little egret, little grebe, red jungle fowl, rhesus macaque, sambar, sloth bear, spotted deer, striped hyena, tiger, wild pig

At the end of the day, as the sun begins to dip, & the heat of the African day decreases, we will head out as this is the perfect time to spot the predators that call Djuma their home, taking in the magical “golden hour” of light for the ideal photographic opportunities.
For photographic guidance, NaturesLens are incredibly pleased to announce that we have a new guide joining the team, specifically for this & hopefully other South African adventures too, Clint Ralph is a South African wildlife photographer of some note, who knows the Djuma reserve & the larger surrounding area very well.

2022 – Sabi Sands Leopards Photography Holiday

Photographed as the sun sets this is one of the leopards of the private reserve photographed on the reserve used for the NaturesLens Leopards of Sabi Sands Photography Holiday
You are welcomed to join NaturesLens during June 2022 for an amazing nature photography trip to photograph the wildlife of Sabi Sands – with a particular focus on the leopards.
Join NaturesLens to capture images of Leopards of Sabi Sands, in South Africa, during the Sabi Sands Leopards photography holiday. This photography holiday is of 7 night/8 day duration on a Full Board, Non-Shared basis & costs £3999  £3749 per participant.
Each guest suite has a secluded plunge pool, expansive viewing deck & freestanding “khaya” – a lounge with a tea & coffee station & wood-burning stove for those cold winter’s mornings & evenings.
The main lodge area features a cosy indoor lounge & enormous fireplace (perfect for cold winter’s evenings), remarkable dining room with its hallmark chandelier made from Coke bottles opening onto an extended deck & boma area, complete with firepit, swimming pool & funky steel & timber viewing “tower” overlooking the dam. If we’re lucky, we might spot one of Djuma’s famous leopards hunting here!
For the duration of our stay, between the dates of 25th June - 2nd July 2022, we will have the services of a chef on-site, who will be preparing some delicious meals for our group!
Djuma offers more than 7000ha of private land, bordering right onto the western border of the Kruger National Park.
