One Of Kerkini's Dalmatian Pelicans Drifts Serenely Across The Waters Of The Lake Photographed During The NaturesLens Dalmatian Pelicans Of Greece WIldlife Photograhpy Holiday
NaturesLens offer keen wildlife photographers the chance to encounter the impressive Dalmatian Pelican, photographing the population of this species as they thrive in their picturesque natural habitat; Lake Kerkini in northern Greece.
We have designed an all-encompassing photography experience, ensuring that internal travel & comfortable accommodation are organised for you to ensure that you can focus on making the most of opportunities to capture editorial quality images. Our trips fill up quickly, so ensure that you book early to avoid missing out!
Join NaturesLens to capture images of the charismatic Dalmatian Pelicans, in Greece, during the Dalmatian Pelicans of Lake Kerkini photography holiday. This photography holiday is of 5 night/6 day duration on a Full Board, Non-Shared basis & costs £1399  £1299 per participant.
Since 2014, NaturesLens has been taking photographers to Lake Kerkini; in 2022, join David, one of the co-founders of NaturesLens, for a unique wildlife experience, getting up close & personal with the beautiful prehistoric bird that is the Dalmatian Pelican; capturing them on camera within their natural habitat of beautiful Lake Kerkini in northern Greece. This 5 night trip encompasses four full days spent getting to know this unique landscape, offering extensive opportunities to photograph these incredible birds, as well as neighbouring wildlife such as the Pygmy Cormorant & the majestic Greater Flamingo.
The Dalmatian Pelican is, by a small margin, the largest of the Pelican species, as well as one of the largest living bird species on earth. These magnificent birds have been in decline in recent years, partly due to habitat destruction on the part of us humans, but thankfully the population at Kerkini has prevailed & still thrives within this perfect haven.
This trip is best suited to those of you with mid-level to advanced photography skills looking for a new challenge. We pride ourselves in offering something special to clients in comparison to other trip providers, so we have coordinated this itinerary to allow you to capture these magnificent birds at sunrise & sunset.
Highlights of the trip include daily boat trips on to the lake, daily shoreline feeds offering you the chance to get up close to the Dalmatian Pelicans & witness their feeding behaviours, & cosy accommodation in a nearby hotel as an oasis from the harsh winter conditions. All the details are taken care of for you so that you can relax & enjoy this unique wildlife photography adventure.

You will be on the lake before the sun comes up to see the Pelicans at first light, & after the morning’s activities, will break for a warming lunch as a much-needed break from the cold, discussing what the rest of the day will hold. As a group you will then embark on an afternoon of further exciting photography opportunities, remaining on the shoreline of the lake through to early evening to make the most of the changing light conditions. When the day comes to an end, you will return to the comfort of the hotel to relax in front of a roaring fire, freshen up & discuss your achievements from the day.

During this 5 night photography holiday, David, one of our photography guides, will lead you throughout this photography tour, providing guidance & advice as needed & helping you develop your skills. David will help you capture images of the Dalmatian Pelicans in both wide & close up shots; capturing them in movement while feeding & fighting for fish, interacting with each other or in flight with the impressive backdrop provided by the lake & surrounding snow-capped mountains.

Our group numbers are strictly limited to allow for the highest quality experience for everyone involved, & as this photography is seasonal, we can only offer this trip to a small number of lucky individuals each year. Book early to avoid disappointment!

2023 – Winter Wildlife of Japan Photography Holiday

Stellars Sea Eagle in flight
NaturesLens invites you to spend this 14 night/15 day tour traveling throughout the wonderfully diverse landscapes of Japan, specifically Central Honshu & Northern Hokkaido, getting up close to a wide range of native species that thrive in harsh winter conditions. Our Japanese Winter Wildlife photography holiday, which we have been leading for the last 8 years, covers a variety of areas, providing you with unique opportunities to undertake wildlife photography of the highest quality.
Guided by David & Ian, you will visit Central Honshu & Northern Hokkaido & gain an insight into the variety of landscapes & wildlife that exists throughout the country, made even more photogenic by dramatic winter conditions. The photographic opportunities on our Japanese Winter Wildlife photography tour are always without parallel – with opportunities to photograph the red-crowned cranes, Steller’s sea eagles, white-tailed sea eagle, whooper swans, & of course, the Snow Monkeys, during this photography holiday.
Join NaturesLens to capture images of the red-crowned cranes, Steller's sea eagles, white-tailed sea eagle, whooper swans, & the Snow Monkeys, in Japan, during the Winter Wildlife of Japan photography holiday. This photography holiday is of 14 night/15 day duration on a Half Board, Non-Shared basis & costs £6499  £5999 per participant.
Join David & Ian to travel deep into stunning snow-covered landscapes, capturing beautiful images of wildlife which thrives during harsher seasons in Japan. Our group will travel throughout several different regions, including the mountainous area around Yudanaka in central Japan, & north of the mainland to the island of Hokkaido, giving you an insight into the variety of landscapes & wildlife which exists throughout the country, made even more photogenic by dramatic winter conditions.
Our trip offers enthusiastic wildlife photographers the opportunity to rise early for two dawn visits to the famous red-crowned crane roosting sites of the Tsurui region of Hokkaido; spend two days at the Akan red-crowned crane feeding centre; & spend two days observing the beautiful whooper swans which inhabit Lake Kussharo, a frozen caldera lake in the eastern region of Hokkaido.
Not only this, but our trip is unique in offering six boat trips on the drift ice of the Nemuro Strait to photograph Hokkaido’s fabulous Steller’s sea & white-tailed eagle populations as they fly, feed, dive for fish & fight over scraps. These excursions will give you unique access to the native wildlife at each location, providing ample opportunity to obtain incredible images.
Our tour begins in Tokyo; from there we immediately transfer to Hokkaido, the most northerly island of Japan, which holds the most remote & only true wilderness in Japan. North of the island, the Shiretoko Peninsula is recognised for its world heritage site status, as the landscapes of dramatic coastline & soaring mountains are stunning, giving you the perfect backdrop to achieve editorial quality images of the wildlife inhabitants. As we travel across the island, you will have the opportunity to photograph a vast selection of Japanese Winter Wildlife, including red-crowned cranes, black-eared kites, whooper swans as well as white-tailed & Steller’s sea eagles as we cruise through drift ice environments which surround the island & across additional feeding sites on the Nemuro Peninsula to the east of the island.
We will then move onward to Yudanaka & spend two days at the Jigokudani snow monkey site with the Japanese Macaque, also known as the Snow Monkey, in the mountains, at their thermal spa, as they bathe & feed in the area. We give you the second day here so that you have the chance to fine-tune your photography having become more familiar with the environment & the behaviour of this species. After spending the morning with the snow monkeys of Jigokudani Yaen Koen, we will travel to Yamanakako. Our final location is on the shores of  Lake Yamanaka; the view of Mt. Fuji from the lake is breathtaking & has a distinctive shape – making for an iconic image to complete your Japanese Winter Wildlife photography holiday.
Japan is an extraordinary country, & our Japanese Winter Wildlife photography holiday provides wildlife photographers with unrivaled opportunities to capture uniquely beautiful photographs.
In order to present the best photographic opportunities the majority of locations that we make use of throughout this photography holiday are rural or remote in nature, as such food is often based on seafood & is traditional Japanese in style – westernised menus are frequently not available – if you wish to discuss this further prior to booking please contact us.
Group size is limited to between 4 & 5 participants, this is due to the nature of the photography excursions & the type of hotel that we prefer to make use of, so booking early is essential.

2023 – Wildlife of Namibia’s Waterholes Photography Holiday

NaturesLens offers keen wildlife photographers the chance to capture images of the impressive wildlife of Etosha National Park, you will be photographing the wildlife of this massive area as they thrive in their natural habitat; the waterholes offer the area’s best opportunities for both large & small game sightings.
Etosha National Park is home to some of the most common & at the same time some of the rarest wildlife species. Etosha means “place of dry water” & refers to a flat pan of about 5000 square kilometres which can be seen from space!
Join NaturesLens to capture images of Wildlife of Namibia, in Namibia, during the Wildlife of Namibia’s Waterholes photography holiday. This photography holiday is of 8 night/9 day duration on a Full Board with Drinks Included, Non-Shared basis & costs £3999 per participant.
The massive pan, that makes up Etosha National Park, provides a stunning, parched, silver-white backdrop of shimmering mirages to an area of semi-arid grassland & large camel thorn trees mixed with Mopani trees.
The park boasts numerous waterholes, including both natural springs & fountains & others fed by human-made boreholes. During the dry winters, the wildlife relies on these waterholes scattered throughout the park, so sightings are far more reliable than anywhere else in Africa. Extensive treks of zebra & springbok can be seen mingling with oryx & bathing elephants at the larger waterholes. If we are lucky, we may even see rhino, elephant & lion drinking from the same pools.
Four of the Big Five can be seen amongst the Wildlife of Namibia within Etosha National Park. The areas with thicker vegetation are home to elephants, black rhino & even leopard. The lions are camouflaged in the pale-golden colour of the savannah.
The fleet-footed cheetah, rare black-faced impala, hyena, jackal, bat-eared fox, warthog & giraffe are just some of the other species that can be found here.
We will stay in an intimate tented camp that is a study in contrasts. Textures such as stone, suede, linen & steel have been used to create a setting that is sleek & modern but also inherently of the earth. All the tents are situated around a busy waterhole, where the wildlife come to quench their thirst directly in front of your tent.
The surrounding nature lends itself to long lazy afternoons spent relaxing on the sofas in the lounge watching the wildlife go by. When things heat up, cool down in the sparkling rim-flow swimming pool.
With a stunning main building & just seven luxury tents with en-suite bathrooms providing private, exclusive accommodation for our guests, coupled with the warmest of hospitality, sumptuous meals & first-class guides, this is the perfect trip for photographers wishing to capture images of the wildlife of Namibia.
The activities will be a mixture of traditional safari game drives & use of their fabulous water-level hide which has been placed in front of a waterhole offering a pretty impressive viewpoint & some fantastic photography of the wildlife of Namibia that comes to visit.
Photographable Species: bat-eared fox, cheetah, elephant, giraffe, hyena, impala, jackal, leopard, lion, oryx, rhino, springbok, warthog, zebra

The third day will include use of another photography deck & a boat tour of the Sarapiqui River.
The final day of your stay in Sarapiqui will see the group visiting a location which generally produces excellent images of the Northern Emerald-toucanet there are often multiple toucanets at this location.
Leaving Sarapiqui, you will head towards the Nicaraguan border where you will stay for three nights; during the following days, you will visit locations for photography of the various Tanagers, Dacnises, Honeycreepers & Seedeaters that are found in the area, plus king vulture & hummingbird. 2022 – Majestic Tigers of India Photography Holiday

One Of Bandhavgarh's Beautiful Bengal Tigers In The Cooling Water Of A Pool Photographed During The NaturesLens Tigers Of Bandhavgarh Photography Holiday
NaturesLens invites you to join Pui Hang & David & take the opportunity to journey into the heart of India, in the pursuit of capturing the elusive Indian tiger on camera as it thrives within a protected national park. Open to both amateur & semi-professional wildlife photographers, our trip has been designed to offer guests unrivalled opportunities to photograph these amazing big cats within the national park, whilst also looking out for other native species such as the Indian gaur & langur monkeys.
Refined, using personal experience gained through visits to the reserve, over the past 9 years, our trip includes full board accommodation, jeep fees, park fees & airport transfers to make things as straightforward for you as possible, to ensure that you can make the most of this fantastic wildlife photography experience.
NOW INCLUDES A FULL-DAY JEEP SAFARI ACROSS ALL THREE ZONES OF BANDHAVGARH TIGER RESERVE!
Join NaturesLens to capture images of rich jungle dwelling wildlife, in India, during the Majestic Tigers of India photography holiday. This photography holiday is of 8 night/9 day duration on a Full Board, Non-Shared basis & costs £3999 per participant.
The majestic Indian tiger, a creature so magnificent & elusive, which has been suffering as a result of illegal poaching to the point of becoming an endangered species. NaturesLens invites you to experience these beautiful creatures first hand within a beautiful & mysterious Indian parkland, in a reserve famed for having the highest density of Tigers in India. The landscape offers dense jungle environments & open grassland intertwined with narrow tracks that you will navigate whilst capturing stunning images. You will encounter a range of other native species on the trip, such as leopards, Indian gaurs, langur monkeys & sloth bears as well as an array of beautifully colourful birds.
The park is located in a region of India steeped in complex history, with evidence of the political past of the area lying in ruins & monuments within the park. If you want to maximise your photographic opportunities, we can arrange a full day’s safari in private jeeps. Unlike the public, who are restricted to 3hr sessions in the park in the morning & afternoon, you will benefit from earlier entry & later exit, & an entire day within the park without having to leave, to ensure that you are able to make the most of tiger spotting opportunities at times when the park is quietest.
Many wildlife photography tours in these environments cram 3 or more people into one jeep, forcing individuals to lean over each other to take photographs, therefore compromising the quality of the images & the experience for individuals. However, we have ensured that only 2 guests travel in each jeep, giving you maximum freedom of movement to capture images from the optimum angle, as you experience the wonders of the park over the course of the day. Photography tuition will be provided as needed by Pui Hang & David, a NaturesLens leader, with knowledgeable wildlife guidance provided by a local expert.
Our guests are also housed in exquisite accommodation on a full board basis, providing you with comfort & excellent hospitality when you return from the game drives to relax, unwind, & look over your images. We have designed this tour to maximise time in the park spent spotting & capturing editorial quality photographs of tigers, whilst minimising travel time. With this in mind, airport transfers, jeep fees & park fees are also included in the cost of the tour, making things simple for you so that you can focus on making the most of your wildlife photography experience.
During these months, the parks have dried out. Temperatures will likely be above 30℃, & nudging towards 40℃. Meadows previously covered with lush grass have died back to expose landscapes covered in thick dusk, where water is scarce. Whilst it is tough, in our opinion, this is the best time of year time to visit, less foliage means the wildlife is more exposed, & little water allows our wonderful local guides & driver to predict tiger behaviour as they seek water out from the few remaining water sources in the reserve. For many, the landscapes don’t feel as picturesque, & drives can be uncomfortably hot.

Join NaturesLens to capture images of the charismatic Dalmatian Pelicans on Lake Kerkini, in Greece, during the Dalmatian Pelicans of Greece photography holiday. This photography holiday is of 5 night/6 day duration on a Full Board, Non-Shared basis & costs £1399 per participant.
This trip encompasses four full days spent getting to know this unique landscape, offering extensive opportunities to photograph these incredible birds, as well as neighbouring wildlife such as the Pygmy Cormorant & the majestic Greater Flamingo.
Highlights of the trip include four boat trips on to the lake on consecutive days, four shoreline feeds offering you the chance to get up close to these magnificent birds & witness their feeding behaviours, & cosy accommodation in a nearby hotel as an oasis from the harsh winter conditions.
David, one of our photography guides, will lead you throughout this photography tour, providing guidance & advice as needed & helping you develop your skills. They will help you shoot these birds in wide & close up shots; capturing them in movement while feeding & fighting for fish, interacting with each other or in flight with the impressive backdrop provided by the lake & surrounding snow-capped mountains.
Our group numbers are strictly limited to allow for the highest quality experience for everyone involved, & as this photography is seasonal, we can only offer this trip to a small number of lucky individuals each year. Book early to avoid disappointment!
