Travel Insurance

Travel Insurance – it is a requirement when booking on any wildlife photography holiday scheduled by NaturesLens that you have adequate travel insurance, we suggest a policy from TrailFinders or Campbell Irvine.

Camera Insurance

Insuring your camera equipment before embarking on any wildlife photographic holiday is crucial. Our trips often involve venturing into remote, & sometimes unpredictable environments where accidents & unexpected incidents occur. Insuring your camera gear provides financial protection against theft, loss, or damage, ensuring your investment is safeguarded.

Wildlife photography involves capturing unique & irreplaceable moments, & without proper insurance, any unforeseen mishap could result in significant monetary losses. By insuring your equipment, you can enjoy peace of mind, knowing that you’re covered in case of any unfortunate events, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring world of wildlife & capture stunning photographs without worry.

We recommend PhotoGuard for amateur photographers or Glover Howe, who we use.

Special Notes

The terrain we will traverse during this trip is generally not overly challenging. However, there might be occasional variations in altitude ranging from 50 to 250 meters (160-1,000 feet). Rest assured, our group will maintain a leisurely & unhurried pace. The highest point we will reach on this journey is 300 meters (1,000 feet) above sea level.

It’s essential to remember that you must be capable of carrying your own camera equipment.

Special Note about Torres del Paine & the Estancia Laguna Amarga

In contrast to many Puma photography tours, our primary time & focus will be outside of Torres del Paine National Park itself. We note that many tour operators do not mention the restrictions implemented in 2015, which currently prohibit venturing off roads or designated walking trails in the park to approach Pumas. Although necessary due to the park’s increasing popularity & lack of expert trackers to guide photographers on appropriate behaviour around Pumas, these limitations have undeniably affected the puma-watching & photography experience within the Torres del Paine National Park.

However, we will allocate some time to exploring this magnificent park’s mesmerising landscapes & capturing photographs of other wildlife. That said, most of our time & virtually all of our puma-watching & photography will take place on private lands, the Estancia Laguna Amarga, where restrictions are less stringent, & our chances of encountering these magnificent creatures for incredible photographic opportunities are significantly higher.
