Join NaturesLens on an exciting photography excursion suited to wildlife enthusiasts, photographing the diverse bird species that inhabit the plains of Calera. With a wide selection of comfortable hides throughout the area at our disposal, we will provide you with the best bird photography opportunities possible, capturing them in flight, within their habitats & interacting with one another.

Working from dawn ’til dusk watching this wonderful range of species in action, this is an experience you won’t want to miss!

Join NaturesLens to capture images of owls, kites & other birdlife, in Spain, during the Spanish Birds of Calera past event. This past event is of 8 night/9 day duration on a Half Board, Non-Shared basis & costs £2099 per participant.

The range of bird species which thrive in Calera are a sight to behold. From the Little Owl to Black & Griffon Vultures, their characteristics & common behaviours are diverse, but they all live side by side making up a large proportion of the delicate local ecosystem which exists in this region. Birds can provide some of the most exciting wildlife photography opportunities, as their quick, unpredictable behaviour keeps us on our toes & enables captivating movement & in-flight imagery to be captured.

Our 7-day excursion to Calera offers opportunities to photograph a huge range of native species, including the Bee Eater, Little Owl, Great & Little Bustard, Black & Griffon Vultures, Lesser & Common Kestrel, Hoopoe, & the Black Winged Kite, as well as many others. We offer an all-inclusive accommodation & meal package to ensure that all you need to worry about is taking unique & mesmerising photographs.

Sunrise & sunset are often considered the prime times of day for creative photography, so unlike other holidays & tours, we ensure that our photography sessions make the most of these times of day. This provides unrivalled exposure to the variety of species & the environment which inhabit this region.

NaturesLens provides 7 days of hide sessions, & on most days you will have the opportunity to use different hides in the morning & afternoon to photograph different species. This trip works on a rotation basis, so that each member of the group gets the opportunity to take photographs from a variety of hides. The region is home to a wide range of Iberian Southern European specialties, & we will do our best to tailor your schedule if you make us aware of your target species.

The freedom we provide with the times of day for photography is important, as many of these bird species are very wary & cautious around humans, & it may therefore be necessary to arrive under the cover of darkness. It will also be advisable to approach slowly, & keep noise at a minimum whilst in the hides so as not to startle the birds, as well as to optimise your chances of photographing the birds whilst they are unaware of your presence.

The weather can vary between different times of day in this region at this time of year, so we advise that you bring layers & prepare for somewhat unpredictable weather conditions. Join NaturesLens for a wildlife photography experience you will never forget. Places are limited, so book today!

Photographable Species: azure-winged magpie, bee-eater, black kite, black vulture, black-winged kite, cuckoo, great bustard, great grey shrike, griffon vulture, hoopoe, kestrel, lesser kestrel, little owl, red kite, red-legged partridge

This is a trip you’ll never forget, & will have you leaving with both stunning images & memories which you will treasure for a lifetime.

Join NaturesLens to capture images of the incredible native species found within the Zimanga Game Reserve, in South Africa, during the African Wildlife of Zimanga past event. This past event is of 7 night/8 day duration on a Full Board, Shared basis & costs £3599 per participant.

NaturesLens invites amateur & semi-professional photographers on a wildlife adventure which will take you into the heart of African bushveld environments, photographing a wide range of native species including impressive predators; such as leopards, wild dogs & cheetahs, as well as magnificent elephants & over 400 bird species. The photography safaris & hide sessions all take place within a pristinely preserved wildlife reserve, which provides the animals with a protected habitat whilst allowing photographers to come & observe these animals thrive, & capture awe-inspiring images.

This wildlife reserve offers 6000 hectares of unspoilt sub-tropical bushveld, fever tree forests & hilly terrain, providing you with opportunities to capture the best images of birds & wildlife alike from every possible angle. The reserve has a huge diversity of wildlife including mammals such as black-backed jackal, buffalo, cheetah, elephant, giraffe, hippo, impala, kudu, leopard, lion, nyala, rhino, spotted hyena, waterbuck, wild dog, wildebeest & zebra; & birds such as babbler, barbet, bee-eater, fire finch, fish eagle, hamerkop, kingfisher, lemon breasted canary, mousebird, plover, Rudd’s apalis, sandpiper, twinspot, vulture & waxbill. The animals live side by side in an almost self-contained ecosystem, with both predators & prey relying on this environment to survive. This is the first reserve of its kind; one which has been specifically designed for photographers, whilst allowing the animals to live as naturally as they would in the wild with some added protection.

Our trip offers you 5 traditional game viewing drives from open safari vehicles, with no more than 2 photographers per row to ensure maximum comfort & access to the best angles for photography. These are not limited to tracks, so off-roading will give you maximum photography opportunities. You will also have at your disposal a range of water-level hides, which are perfectly positioned to capture images of the animals at eye-level. These hides have been created with the photographer in mind, providing the optimum structure & positioning throughout the park.

One way glass means you will be invisible to the animals, enabling you to photograph their entirely natural behaviour within the reserve. You will also benefit from the solar-powered air conditioning & comfortable interiors within the hides; included to make your wildlife experience as comfortable & enjoyable as possible.

2 birdbath hides in the heart of the reserve offer you the opportunity to photograph the wide variety of bird species which inhabit the region, including the pink-throated twinspot, kingfishers, barbets & mousebirds to name a few. Not only this, but these hides may also give you the opportunity to photograph other visiting species, such as warthog, banded mongoose & monkeys.

A fourth hide is provided for overnight use which you will use for 2 nights, providing you with a completely different experience of the reserve, observing a variety of species as they carry out their night time activities. With beds provided inside, you have the freedom to use this hide at your leisure, gaining unrivalled exposure to the wildlife & their behaviours at night.

Accommodation & internal transport is included within the price of the trip & NaturesLens leaders will provide photography tuition as needed.

NaturesLens offers you the opportunity to journey into the heart of India, in the pursuit of capturing the elusive Indian tiger on camera as it thrives within a protected national park. Open to both amateur & semi-professional wildlife photographers, this trip has been designed to offer guests unrivalled opportunities to photograph these amazing big cats within the national park, whilst also looking out for other native species such as the Indian gaur & langur monkeys.

Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve is famous for having the highest density of Indian tigers.

This trip includes full board accommodation, jeep fees, park fees & airport transfers to make things as straightforward for you as possible, to ensure that you can make the most of this fantastic wildlife photography experience, under the guidance of David & Pui Hang.

Join NaturesLens to capture images of bengal tigers & other rich jungle dwelling wildlife, in India, during the India’s Bengal Tigers of Bandhavgarh past event. This past event is of 9 night/10 day duration on a Full Board, Non-Shared basis & costs £3249 per participant.

The magnificent Indian tiger, a creature so majestic & elusive, which has been suffering as a result of illegal poaching to the point of becoming an endangered species. NaturesLens invites you to experience these beautiful creatures first hand within a beautiful & mysterious Indian parkland, in a reserve famed for having the highest density of Tigers in India. The landscape offers dense jungle environments & open grassland intertwined with narrow tracks that you will navigate whilst capturing stunning images. You will encounter a range of other native species on the trip, such as leopards, Indian gaurs, langur monkeys & sloth bears as well as an array of beautifully colourful birds.

The park is located in a region of India steeped in complex history, with evidence of the political past of the area lying in ruins & monuments within the park.

If you want to maximise your photographic opportunities, we can arrange a full day’s safari in a private jeep. Unlike the public, who are restricted to 3hr sessions in the park in the morning & afternoon, you will benefit from earlier entry & later exit, & an entire day within the park without having to leave, to ensure that you are able to make the most of tiger spotting opportunities at times when the park is quietest.

Many wildlife photography tours in these environments cram 3 or more people into one jeep, forcing individuals to lean over each other to take photographs, therefore compromising the quality of the images & the experience for individuals. However, we have ensured that only 2 guests travel in each jeep, giving you maximum freedom of movement to capture images from the optimum angle, as you experience the wonders of the park over the course of the day. Photography tuition will be provided as needed by David & Pui Hang, with knowledgeable wildlife guidance provided by a local expert.

Our jeep drivers & naturalists are amongst the most experienced in the reserve, David & Pui Hang have been working with these local experts for the past 8 years.

Our guests are housed in superb accommodation on a full board basis, providing you with comfort & excellent hospitality when you return from the game drives to relax, unwind, & look over your images. We have designed this tour to maximise time in the park spent spotting & capturing editorial quality photographs of tigers, whilst minimising travel time. With this in mind, airport transfers, jeep fees & park fees are also included in the cost of the tour, making things simple for you so that you can focus on making the most of your wildlife photography experience.

After the heat & heavy rains of the monsoon season, the vegetation is lush & green & the landscapes are simply stunning, but there is a downside, the long grasses mean tiger spotting is more tricky. The striped body of the Bengal Tiger blends into the vegetation particularly well, & among those tall grasses they are hard to spot. This adds to the excitement for some, but it’s not for everyone. Safaris at this time can result in wonderful photos of the green pastures contrasting with the orange fur of the magnificent big cats if you manage to spot them.

Group size is limited, so book now to join us on this amazing adventure to come face to face with the majestic Indian tiger.

Photographable Species: asiatic jackal, bengal fox, black kite, black vulture, brown fish owl, crested serpent eagle, dhole, egyptian vulture, gaur, grey mongoose, indian roller, jungle cat, langur monkey, leopard, little egret, little grebe, red jungle fowl, rhesus macaque, sambar, sloth bear, spotted deer, striped hyena, tiger, wild pig

Alongside golden eagles live a wide variety of additional bird species; such as the northern bullfinch, jays & the grey-headed woodpecker, which you will also have the opportunity to capture on camera. With this in mind, airport transfers, jeep fees & park fees are also included in the cost of the tour, making things simple for you so that you can focus on making the most of your wildlife photography experience.

During these months, the parks have dried out. Temperatures will likely be above 30℃, & nudging towards 40℃. Meadows previously covered with lush grass have died back to expose landscapes covered in thick dusk, where water is scarce. Whilst it is tough, in our opinion, this is the best time of year time to visit, less foliage means the wildlife is more exposed, & little water allows our wonderful local guides & driver to predict tiger behaviour as they seek water out from the few remaining water sources in the reserve. For many, the landscapes don’t feel as picturesque, & drives can be uncomfortably hot.

A Tiger Rests Amongst The Fallen Leaves Photographed During The NaturesLens Tigers Of Bandhavgarh Photography Holiday

NaturesLens invites amateur & semi-professional wildlife photographers on a lakeside adventure, travelling to Florida to capture images of the native Osprey population as they thrive in their picturesque natural habitat. As the sun rises, the bird population comes to life, providing perfect photography opportunities as they fly & dive in the light of the rising sun over the watery horizon.

This 9 night photography trip offers excellent access to this stunning landscape & the wildlife which inhabit it, taking boat trips to capture the best possible images. The osprey is your target species, but you will also be photographing bald eagles, owls, pelicans & coastal birds. Book early to avoid disappointment!

Join NaturesLens to capture images of hundreds of ospreys & their young, in United States, during the Ospreys of Blue Cypress Lake photography holiday. This photography holiday is of 9 night/10 day duration on a Half Board, Non-Shared basis & costs £4449 per participant.

We utilise two locations for our osprey adventure. Blue Cypress Lake, named so because of the blue appearance of the cypress trees as the morning sun’s rays reflect off the water; & the Gainesville area, where the Ospreys are to be found with Bald Eagles. If you are lucky, you may even see the two species interacting.

You will enjoy three early morning boat trips on Blue Cypress Lake. As the sun rises over the lake, the reflected light illuminates the Cypress trees which dot the surface & perimeter of the lake; giving it its name. Over 200 pairs of ospreys reside in the area in the trees which trace the lake’s shoreline & you will have plenty of opportunities to photograph them as they fish, feed their young & bring back nesting material. Afternoons offer chances of more osprey photography on the lake, or you can visit a local rookery to photograph additional wildlife such as snowy egrets, wood storks, roseate spoonbills & obtain magnificent landscape images. It is truly a keen bird photographer’s paradise.

We have incorporated a day at Cape Coral, photographing another much sort after native species, the burrowing owl. These pint-sized raptors are one of the smallest of all the owls, & of the 171 species of owls worldwide, the only owl that lives underground.

You will also have the opportunity to photograph snail kites, the 3rd rarest bird in North America, as they fly slowly along the shorelines seeking their primary food item, the apple snail. While you are on the boat, you may even see a kite perched on a clump of cattail or in a willow tree.

At Gainesville, you will enjoy three boat trips to photograph ospreys & bald eagles. If you are lucky, you may even see a bald eagle snatching fish from an osprey!

The schedule for this trip has been designed to allow you to make the most of the photography opportunities available in the area. You will return with a stunning portfolio of some of the most impressive bird species that Florida has to offer.

Accommodation is offered on a half board basis, & your photography leader will provide guidance where necessary to ensure that you capture remarkable wildlife shots, as well as beautiful Cypress tree ‘lake-scapes’.

Group sizes are limited, so book now to become part of the lucky few!

One Of The Roseate Spoonbills At A Rookery Site Image Captured During The Ospreys Of Blue Cypress Lake Photography Holiday

Join NaturesLens, for the Reptiles & Amphibians of Bulgaria photography holiday, alongside our guides, Victoria & Georgi, & you will find that Bulgaria in spring offers excellent macro photography opportunities due to its rich biodiversity & variety of well-preserved habitats.

Our main targets on this tour will be the 20 species of amphibians & 37 species of reptiles, many of whom can only be seen in this part of the continent, thanks to Bulgaria’s bio-geographical location.

Join NaturesLens to capture images of the wide & varied reptiles & amphibians that are found in the region, in Bulgaria, during the Reptiles & Amphibians of Bulgaria photography holiday. This photography holiday is of 7 night/8 day duration on a Half Board, Non-Shared basis & costs £1899 per participant.

During the tour, you will visit some of the best locations for reptiles & amphibians in western Bulgaria. We have timed our tour to coincide with the beginning of these species’ reproduction cycle since this will give you the best chance to find them. We will explore different territories & habitats from the Danube river to the Bulgarian-Greek border, from river banks in low parts to high mountain lakes, cliffs, karst & forests.

The days will consist of early starts & late evenings to take advantage of the best light. Luckily, these are also the times when the amphibians & reptiles are normally motionless. Take advantage of the harsh midday sun to have a siesta or enjoy the excellent panoramic views.

Our tour will start in the Western Balkan Mountain close to Vratsa town.
