There are few sights in the natural world that are more awe-inspiring than seeing a wild Tiger at close quarters. Join NaturesLens on their tour to incredible India to photograph the mighty Royal Bengal Tiger. Just sitting in the jeep, waiting for the gates to the park to open will send adrenaline coursing through the veins, whilst every movement in the undergrowth raises the expectation of a sudden appearance by that instantly recognisable striped body, pug marks in the dust or the warning cries of deer serving only to heighten the almost unbearable sense of anticipation & excitement.
Our 10 day tour concentrates on the wildlife, but particularly the Tigers of Bandhavgarh National Park, the reserve is best known for its high density of tigers. The park lies in a region steeped in history & in the heart of the reserve, atop an 800-metre plateau, stands the ruin of the magnificent Bandhavgarh Fort which bears testament to the succession of dynasties that once ruled the area.
The itinerary for the Tigers of Bandhavgarh India Workshop has been designed to minimise travelling time & maximise our time looking for the majestic Tiger. We will use domestic flights rather than an overnight train to reach the park more quickly, where we have planned for a total of 13 game drives in the premier Tala Zone.
When booking just the Tala Zone, it is imperative that clients book early. This means we will require client details such as date of birth & passport numbers no later than the first week of December 2014. Any clients booking after that date may have to use more than one zone from which to view the tigers.
Whilst tiger sightings in the other zones has much improved, the tigers there are less habituated to vehicles thus sightings tend to be more distant & also more brief.
Accommodation in Bandhavgarh is on a full board basis in absolutely fabulous accommodation. Beautiful villas, all with wet room inside, plus a private screened rain shower outside for cooling off.
The NaturesLens Tigers of Bandhavgarh Safari tour is based on the use of private jeeps & expert local naturalists. There will be just two people per jeep to ensure there is plenty of space for camera equipment & for you to move around. Tuition is available for those who want it.
In addition to the tigers, there is also a wide variety of other wildlife such as Sambar, Spotted Deer, Langur monkeys, Gaur (huge Asiatic Bison) & wild boar. If we are lucky, we may see Leopard, Sloth Bear & Asian Wild Dog (Dhole). Many colourful birds are also present in the park including Indian Roller, Kingfishers, Asian Paradise Flycatcher, Brown Fish Owl, Crested Serpent Eagle, Yellow Wattled Lapwing & Malabar Pied Hornbill.
The cost of the tour includes 7 nights in Bandhavgarh on a full board basis, transfers to & from the airport, all jeep fees & 13 safaris (morning & evening safaris).
Tips, internal flights & flights to India are NOT included.
