Join Pui Hang & David for this 8 night nature photography tour to Kanha National Park; Kanha National Park is a tiger reserve located in in Madhya Pradesh, India.
Kahna National Park with its beautiful landscapes of lush sal & bamboo forests, rolling grasslands & ravines is the inspiration behind Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book.
Join NaturesLens to capture images of varied wildlife including, of course, the Bengal Tigers of Kanha, in India, during the Bengal Tigers of Kanha photography holiday. This photography holiday is of 8 night/9 day duration on a Full Board, Non-Shared basis & costs £4499per participant.
This nature photography trip takes you to one of the premier tiger reserves in India, wild dog, jackal, sloth bear, bison, hyena, python & the elusive leopard can also be found here – of course, much of our time will be spent locating the beautiful Bengal Tigers of Kanha.
Kanha National Park is also the only park where you can see the Barasingha, “the jewel of Kanha”, also known as the Swamp Deer. The Barasinghas inhabit the large open grass zone amidst the bamboo & teak forests & were all but extinct twenty years ago. Thanks to a holistic conservation approach & effective management practices, this symbolic deer species is thriving again & during their mating season, their rutting calls echo throughout the forest.
Approximately 300 species of birds call Kanha National Park home, including Black Ibis, Bee-eaters, Cattle Egret, Pond Heron, Drongos, Blossom-Headed Parakeets, Common Teal, Grey Hornbill, Crested Serpent Eagle, Indian roller, Lesser Adjutant Stork, Little Grebes, Lesser Adjutants, Lesser Whistling Teal, Minivets, Pied Hornbill, Woodpecker, Pigeon, Paradise Flycatchers, Mynas, Red Wattled Lapwing, Peafowl, Red Jungle Fowl, Steppe Eagle, Tickell’s Flycatcher, White-eyed Buzzard, White-breasted Kingfisher, White-browed Fantail Flycatcher, Wood shrikes & more.
One of the most popular beauty spots within Kanha is Bamni Dadar, popularly known as Sunset Point as it provides the most awe-inspiring backdrop for sunsets against grazing Samba Deer & Indian Gaur. Small wonder that Kanha is recognised as one of the most beautiful wildlife reserves in Asia.
If you are looking for an Indian tiger safari experience with a picturesque backdrop, why not join us in Kanha National Park?

Recommended Equipment
Recommended Camera Equipment
For this photography holiday, we recommend that you bring along an intermediate telephoto lens such as the 100-400mm & a 500mm lens or the 200-400mm with built in extender. The combination of the 100-400mm & the 500mm will cover off close portrait shots as well as action shots. The 200-400mm with built in extender is perfect for this type of photography holiday thanks to its versatility. A wide angle would also be useful if you fancy capturing some environment shots or landscapes.
We recommend that you bring dust covers to protect your expensive lens from the dust whilst you are out on safari.
You might also wish to pack a monopod and/or beanbag to steady your camera while you are in the jeeps.
Recommended Clothing
We will be travelling at the height of the Indian summer so it is going to be hot! Luckily, it is a dry heat so it will be much easier to cope with. So, for this photography holiday, we recommend that you pack thin neutral coloured t-shirts & blouses teamed with neutral coloured trousers. You should also bring a hat, preferably a safari style hat with a broad rim all around the edge, to protect your head & scalp from getting burnt. If you own a bandana, bring this along too as it will be useful to protect your nose & mouth from dust.
Sandals or easy shoes are great for the hotel but you will need sensible shoes for when you are out & about.
Don't forget to pack your sunglasses, plenty of sunscreen & insect repellent!
