  • NaturesLens offers you the opportunity to journey into central India & go straight off the beaten track to Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve, in the pursuit of capturing the elusive Indian tiger on camera as it thrives within a protected national park. Open to both amateur & semi-professional wildlife photographers, our trip has been designed to offer guests unrivalled opportunities to photograph these amazing big cats within the national park, while also looking out for other native species such as the Sloth Bear & Wild Dog.
Refined, using personal experience gained through visits to the reserve, over the past 6 years, our trip includes full board accommodation, jeep fees, park fees & airport transfers to make things as straightforward for you as possible, to ensure that you can make the most of this fantastic wildlife photography experience.
Join NaturesLens to capture images of rich jungle dwelling wildlife, in India, during the India’s Bengal Tigers of Tadoba photography holiday. This photography holiday is of 7 night/8 day duration on a Full Board, Shared basis & costs £3299 per participant.
Refined, using personal experience gained through visits to the reserve, over the past few years, this trip, led by David, includes full board accommodation, jeep fees, park fees & airport transfers to make things as straightforward for you as possible, to ensure that you can make the most of this fantastic wildlife photography experience.
The magnificent Indian tiger, an apex predator, so majestic & elusive, yet it is on the brink of becoming an endangered species due to illegal poaching. NaturesLens invites you to experience these beautiful creatures first hand within the oldest & largest national park in Maharashtra. The landscape offers dense jungle environments & open grassland intertwined with narrow tracks that you will navigate while capturing stunning images. You will encounter a range of other native species on the trip, such as wild dog, leopards, Indian gaurs, langur monkeys & sloth bears as well as an array of beautifully colourful birds.
If you want to maximise your photographic opportunities, we can arrange a full day’s safari in a private jeep. Unlike the public, who are restricted to 3hr sessions in the park in the morning & afternoon, you will benefit from earlier entry & later exit, & an entire day within the park without having to leave, to ensure that you can make the most of tiger spotting opportunities at times when the park is quietest. Tadoba is also unusual in that it only allows one jeep a day to participate in a full day safari.
Many wildlife photography tours in these environments cram 3 or more guests into one safari jeep, forcing individuals to lean over each other to take photographs, therefore compromising the quality of the images & the experience for individuals. However, we have ensured that only two guests travel in each jeep, giving you maximum freedom of movement to capture images from the optimum angle, as you experience the wonders of the park over the course of the day. Photography tuition will be provided as needed by David, with knowledgeable wildlife guidance provided by a local expert.
Our guests are also housed in exquisite accommodation on a full board basis, providing you with comfort & excellent hospitality when you return from the game drives to relax, unwind, & look over your images. We have designed this tour to maximise time in the park spent spotting & capturing editorial quality photographs of tigers, while minimising travel time. With this in mind, airport transfers, jeep fees & park fees are also included in the cost of the tour, making things simple for you so that you can focus on making the most of your wildlife photography experience.
Throughout these months, the tiger reserves are subject to the temperatures rising & the vegetation drying out. From being around 20℃, temperatures are now rising, 30℃ & above is increasingly commonplace. The grasses wilt & fall flat, dying on the ground to expose landscapes covered in the thick dusk, where water is scarce. This is an excellent time to go since less foliage means the wildlife is more exposed, & little water allows us to predict their behaviour as they congregate around the last remaining sources.
Group size is limited, so book now to join us on this amazing adventure to come face to face with the majestic Indian tiger.
Photographable Species: asiatic jackal, bengal fox, black kite, black vulture, brown fish owl, crested serpent eagle, dhole, egyptian vulture, gaur, grey mongoose, indian roller, jungle cat, langur monkey, leopard, little egret, little grebe, red jungle fowl, rhesus macaque, sambar, sloth bear, spotted deer, striped hyena, tiger, wild pig

    Recommended Equipment

    Recommended Camera Equipment

For this photography holiday, we recommend that you bring along an intermediate telephoto lens such as the 100-400mm & a 500mm lens or the 200-400mm with built in extender. The combination of the 100-400mm & the 500mm will cover off close portrait shots as well as action shots. The 200-400mm with built in extender is perfect for this type of photography holiday thanks to its versatility. A wide angle would also be useful if you fancy capturing some environment shots or landscapes.

We recommend that you bring dust covers to protect your expensive lens from the dust whilst you are out on safari.

You might also wish to pack a monopod and/or beanbag to steady your camera while you are in the jeeps.

    Recommended Clothing

We will be travelling at the height of the Indian summer so it is going to be hot! Luckily, it is a dry heat so it will be much easier to cope with. So, for this photography holiday, we recommend that you pack thin neutral coloured t-shirts & blouses teamed with neutral coloured trousers. You should also bring a hat, preferably a safari style hat with a broad rim all around the edge, to protect your head & scalp from getting burnt. If you own a bandana, bring this along too as it will be useful to protect your nose & mouth from dust.

Sandals or easy shoes are great for the hotel but you will need sensible shoes for when you are out & about.

Don't forget to pack your sunglasses, plenty of sunscreen & insect repellent!
