Photographers of all levels of experience are invited to join Alison for this five-night Spring Birds of Lake Kerkini photography holiday in Kerkini, Greece. You will photograph the amazing birdlife of Lake Kerkini as new life bursts into life around this wetland.
This five-night trip, scheduled for 24th - 29th May 2024, has an itinerary designed for bird photography of the birds as we drift through their environment on our boat. This spectacle happens as spring takes over from winter & new life hatches in many nests around Lake Kerkini.
Over the five-night trip, the locations should provide opportunities for capturing images of Bee-Eater, Bitterns, Black Storks, Cattle Egrets, Cormorants, Dalmatian Pelicans, Great Crested Grebes, Great White Egrets, Grey Herons, Hoopoe, Night Heron, Squacco Heron, White Pelican, White Stork & more.
Throughout this five-night photography holiday, Alison, one of our photography guides, will be on hand to guide & lead you; Alison will be providing assistance & advice as needed & helping you develop your skills; he will help you capture images of the wildlife of Lake Kerkini with the impressive backdrop provided by the lake & surrounding mountainscape.
What birds live on or nest on Lake Kerkini?
The wetland is home to purple herons, black storks, Eurasian spoonbills, Dalmatian & white pelicans, grebes of varying types, various ducks, flamingos, glossy ibises, & the white egret. Birds that breed in the lake area that we will use for our photography include the whiskered & black tern, cormorants, little egret, black & white stork, Eurasian spoonbills, & of course, the Grey, Squacco & black-crowned night herons.
