Striped Hyena at Shompole

Tucked into southern Kenya's Rift Valley, Shompole sits close to the Tanzanian border and within full view of the Nguruman Escarpment, whose steep, forested slopes provide a dramatic backdrop for photography. This community-conserved wilderness, with its stretches of acacia woodland, offers a quiet, undisturbed setting in which to seek out the Striped Hyena.
