Sandhill Crane at Florida
Florida's low-lying peninsula, threaded with freshwater marshes and cypress, gives Sandhill Cranes plenty of open, wet ground to work across as they feed and move through the landscape. Photographers joining the Florida Ospreys holiday in April have a good chance of encountering these tall, statuesque birds against this distinctive wetland backdrop. The flat, open terrain typical of the region makes for clear sightlines, helping you frame the cranes without obstruction. As with any Florida outing on this holiday, patience around the marsh edges is likely to pay off with a memorable sighting.
