Tawny-browed Owl at Atlantic Rainforest

Tucked within the surviving fragments of the Atlantic Rainforest, or Mata Atlântica, the Tawny-browed Owl inhabits a landscape that once ran almost unbroken along Brazil's eastern seaboard, climbing from the coast into steep, mist-shrouded escarpments further inland. These remnant tracts, though reduced from their former extent, remain a key setting for locating this species.
