Where do we stay in the Serengeti?

Our camp in the Serengeti provides an exclusive experience with five guest tents & one family tent. Each tent, designed with your comfort in mind, has ensuite bathrooms, hot bucket showers, & solar-powered amenities. The tents are nestled amongst acacia trees & offer privacy with breathtaking views of the migration path. The interior of each tent is well-furnished, with charging stations, comfortable beds, & luxurious linens. Although the camp is unavailable on mobile phone networks, it offers Wi-Fi connectivity. The central lounge area, a hub of social activity, is perfect for catching up & sharing your wildlife photography experiences. The camp’s focus on nature & comfort creates a unique & memorable stay in the heart of the Serengeti.

It is known for its stunning landscapes & abundant wildlife & is a prime viewing area for the Great Migration of wildebeests & zebras. Lions, iconic residents of the Serengeti, are commonly spotted in Lobo, displaying their majestic presence & impressive hunting skills. Leopards, known for their elusive nature, also thrive in this area & can often be seen resting on tree branches or stalking prey. With their remarkable speed & agility, cheetahs can be observed hunting across the savannah plains. Additionally, hyenas, including the spotted hyena & the smaller striped hyena, play a vital role as scavengers & skilled hunters. What is the Serengeti Migration?

The Serengeti Migration is one of the most spectacular natural events in the world. Millions of wildebeest, zebra, & other grazing animals move in a circular pattern between the Serengeti National Park in & the Masai Mara National Reserve in in search of fresh grazing land & water. This annual migration is driven by the changing seasons & is a remarkable sight as the herds cross rivers, teeming with crocodiles & navigating vast savannas. It is a prime wildlife viewing opportunity & a must-see for nature enthusiasts.

When does the Serengeti Migration take place?

Twice a year, usually between mid-May & late June & again around October & November, the migration passes through the Lobo region. The timing of the migration depends on the rains. This strategic location allows our guests to witness this natural phenomenon up close, which enhances their overall experience of staying in the Serengeti.

The following is the proposed itinerary for this photography holiday, it should be considered provisional & subject to change.

  • Day 1 - Arrive Nairobi - overnight Nairobi
  • Day 2 - transfer to Arusha by land - overnight Arusha
  • Day 3 - transfer to the Serengeti by bush flight, followed by an afternoon game drive - overnight our camp in the Serengeti
  • Day 4 - Day 8 - Morning & afternoon game drives in the Lobo region of the Serengeti - overnight our camp in the Serengeti
  • Day 9 - transfer to Nairobi

By insuring your equipment, you can enjoy a sense of security, knowing you’re covered in any unfortunate events. This allows you to fully immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring world of wildlife & capture stunning photographs without worry.

Additional Information

NaturesLens photography holidays do not include flights unless it is explicitly stated on the event page. When it is time to book your flights, we will send you the details in plenty of time to allow for bookings at the best available price.

The photography holiday itinerary is subject to change & is to be considered provisional.

NaturesLens photography holidays require a minimum number of participants in order to be viable. If this minimum number is not met, the photography holiday may not go ahead.

In the event that the minimum number for a photography holiday to go ahead is not reached, NaturesLens reserves the right to cancel any given photography holiday. In that event 100% of monies received will be returned. However, NaturesLens is not responsible for expenses incurred by its customers.

Not all mentioned wildlife can be observed & photographed at all times of the year, thus some activities may be considered seasonal & not available.

Please note the cuisine on many of the NaturesLens photography holidays is authentic & typical of the region in which you are travelling. International or western cuisine is often NOT available. If you have any concerns over the food arrangements or have any special dietary requirements, please contact us prior to making a booking.

All personal luggage are the responsibility of the owner & we request that photography holiday participants limit their luggage to the equivalent of one suitcase, one flight bag, one camera bag & tripod. We do not wish to appear dictatorial in this matter & the request is made to ensure space & comfort for everyone in our vehicles.
