Embark on an unforgettable 7 night photographic adventure into the pristine wilderness of British Columbia’s Cariboo region with NaturesLens! Led by David & Pui Hang, this extremely special trip – Wolves, Lynx & Winter Wildlife of Canada – promises thrilling encounters with some of the most elusive & majestic creatures of the snow-laden forests. Set in the remote Chilcotin Plateau, this is a land of dramatic landscapes, frozen lakes, & dense boreal forests – a true stronghold for Canada’s iconic winter wildlife.

The Wolves, Lynx & Winter Wildlife of Canada Trip Promises a Wilderness Experience Like No Other

Your journey begins at Williams Lake, from there we transfer you to our lodge for the week, a secluded haven nestled on the shores of Eagle Lake, surrounded by the towering Niut Mountain Range. This region is part of traditional Secwépemc (Shuswap) First Nation territory, where vast wilderness stretches uninterrupted, offering some of the best wildlife viewing in British Columbia.

Each morning, witness the sunrise ignite the snow-capped peaks, casting golden light across the frozen expanse of Eagle Lake. The silence of this untouched landscape is broken only by the distant calls of ravens or the crunch of snow under a lynx’s paws. This is raw, untamed nature – a paradise for photographers with a passion for wildlife & the great outdoors.

Explore the Chilcotin’s Frozen Realm

After a hearty breakfast, we’ll transport you deep into the Chilcotin’s boreal forests & subalpine valleys, where snow drapes the landscape in thick, crystalline blankets. Your private, heated hide will be strategically placed in areas frequented by Canada lynx – masters of stealth that thrive in these deep-snow habitats.

The Cariboo Mountains & surrounding plateaus are part of a critical wildlife corridor, home not only to the Canada Lynx but also to:

  • Timber wolves – Packs roam these forests, their tracks often visible in fresh snow.

  • Red foxes & fishers – Agile & curious, they dart between the spruce & pine.

  • Moose & snowshoe hares – Vital prey species that shape the behaviour of their predators.

  • Great grey owls & boreal owls – Silent hunters of the winter woods.

The Lodge – Your Wilderness Retreat

After each day’s photography, we will return to the lodge, a rustic yet comfortable base, where warm meals, hot drinks, & a crackling fireplace await.

The lodge sits in complete solitude, with no cell service but satellite internet for essential connectivity. Evenings are spent sharing stories, reviewing images, & planning the next day’s adventure.
