TrustPilot Reviews of NaturesLens Wildlife Photography Holidays
Shompole - a new star in the photo universe
Shompole Wilderness is located in the South Rift Valley in Kenya, and what a place it is. The camp blends seamlessly into the landscape with each tent discretely sited. The tents are comfortable and well appointed and the local Maasai staff are friendly and attentive. But the star status comes from the hides. There are 2, located a short distance from the main camp, each with its own character. Both feature water holes and lighting and, with an open front, you won't get much closer to the wildlife than this. The lighting at night gives a stunning perspective to ...
Superb Serengeti with NaturesLens
Serengeti is an iconic name, regularly featured on TV. So what's different about the photographic holiday with NaturesLens. Firstly, it is located in the Lobo region of the Park with a high density of lions and a low density of safari vehicles. On the majority of our sightings over the week, ours was the only vehicle. This gave us the opportunity to just sit, observe and get to know the animals. Not only lions though; there were leopard, cheetah, buffalo, wildebeest and a variety of deer. The camp was so very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble, the food ...
Shompole an experience not to be missed.
When I first saw the images taken by David and Pui Hang from their initial visit I was so impressed that I instantly booked to go to Shompole. I was not disappointed. What a great opportunity to photograph various species at night. The staff were very helpful and looked after us to a high standard.
The Company that just keeps on giving!
NaturesLens are a company that just keeps on giving! With 20+ of their trips having already been experienced over a number of years, their latest offering of six hide nights at Shompole Wilderness camp in Kenya was an instant winner for me! I love being at one with nature, and this photographic trip has it all. The opportunity to spend 16 hours or so every night in purpose built hides with the expectation of a multitude of different wild animals stopping by for a drink, is what dreams are made of! Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Civet, Mongoose, Jackal, Hyena, Zebra, ...
Shompole with NatureLens…
I thought David was an excellent photographic host, identifying and ensuring those who may need help in difficult photographic situations got what they needed to ensure they got photographs they wanted. David keeping an eye on the day to day running of the trip so we all benefited from the experience. Shompole provided some very close encounters with the local wildlife of which there was a great variety and there were many photographic opportunities to use up your card space. Enjoyable time but Africa always is.
Mara and Shompole
This is my third trip with Pui and Naturelens and am so grateful for the excellent experience and support they provided. As a senior citizen I was nervous in going but Naturelens support me in every way with not just support whilst travelling but great technical knowledge to help me get the best photos. I will definitely be booking with Naturelens again and if you are new to photography this is an exceptional company to go with.
NaturesLens have once again delivered…
NaturesLens have once again delivered the very best experience with a fantastic trip to the Maasai Mara. The trip was expertly led and organised by Pui Hang Miles who made every effort to ensure that everyone’s needs were met. The bush camp Tembo by Jackson was ideal, knowledgeable guides/drivers who found some wonderful sightings. Excellent food including the best soups and GF bread I have had for a long time. A great trip with great memories.
Superb Experience
This was my second time with Natureslens and like the first it did not disappoint. Shompole Wilderness was above my expectations, great variety of animals and expertly guided by Pui Hang. I would thoroughly recommend Natureslens and look forward to another adventure with them in the future.
Wonderful Trip…
I loved everything about the Shompole trip. The camp was beautiful, peaceful and quiet. Being gluten intollerant I am always a little concerned about food. But the food was wonderful and they went out of their way to accommodate. The wildlife was incredible. Night hide photography is tiring and I didn't sleep in the day. I would have therefore ideally liked a day in the middle in camp photographing the wildlife there and sleeping in my beautiful tent. Lovely experience, handled expertly by Pui.
A great ethical company
Natures lens are head and shoulders above other operators i have travelled with. They are accomplished photographers who go the extra mile to make sure every guest has an exceptional experience and obtain photographs to be proud of. They use only the best local guides who know the area and animal behaviour intimately. They are also committed to sustainable and ethical behavior. As a retired professional photographer my expectations are high and Natures lens have never failed to exceed them. I cannot rate them highly enough.
A highly recommended ethical operation.
I have now been on trips with Natures lens to 3 separate destinations. Earlier this year I joined their tiger safari to India and cannot praise them highly enough. They use only the very best guides who are knowledgeable about the area and the requirements of the guests. What impressed me the most was the fact that they managed to do this whilst respecting the animals and landscape - this sets them apart from many other operators. I returned from this trip with gallery worthy images that I simply could not have achieved without their guidance. I highly recommend ...
NaturesLens - Excellent and EASY
After previous very saucerful and fantastic trips with NaturesLens, I decided to use them again and re-visit Costa Rica. PN and David (the owners) made the booking process very simple and straightforward and they were both more than happy to answer all my questions about the trip, the itinerary, the accommodation and Cost Rica. This was just the start. This was a small group holiday (4 of us + David), led by David, who was with us for the entre holiday. On arrival we were met at the Airport and introduced to Tony, who was our 'Man Friday' for ...
Hungary Winter & Summer trips
I have been going on trips with NaturesLens for several years now. The overall experience is always improving and never went back home disappointed. This year I have been on the Hungary trip ( both Winter & Summer ones ). Everything went so smooth from arrival to departure. Accommodation & transport was excellent, food was great even though I needed a specific dietary requirement. The photography schedule was set to give everyone a chance to try all the possible options, and could be changed around easily. I didn’t hesitate to book again for 2026.
We went on the Grimsey Island trip in…
We went on the Grimsey Island trip in Iceland in June 2025, led by Robin from Natureslens. Everything about the trip was great. From the pre-trip planning and communication, to support travelling to the Grimsey Island, getting settled in to the Guest House, and being led back to the end of the trip. During the trip the guidance and photographic expertise Robin provided was great, and Grimsey is by far the best place we have ever been to for the amount of species available in different lighting conditions. Natureslens made it from beginning to end a great experience.
Fantastic experience on Skomer - my first ever workshop
This trip to Skomer Island with NaturesLens was everything I had hoped for and more. I chose the timing to coincide with peak season on Skomer for puffins carrying sand eels with the outside hope of perhaps observing little pufflings. Alas we were a tad early for the pufflings but the circus of puffins flying to and from their nests with mouths full of eels did not disappoint. Our guide, photo pro and house chef Robin did an outstanding job providing tips and location advice based on his years of experience photographing puffins on Skomer and elsewhere. I also ...
Excellent, we had the most amazing time.
My Husband and I have just arrived back from an amazing trip to Grimsey, Iceland. Our group leader Robin was fantastic and took time to help everyone, suggesting different ideas and taking us to some amazing locations. He also has a smashing personality and makes everyone feel at ease and is always open for questions and to give advice. The trip was extremely well organized, the accommodation was lovely, the food in the restaurant was great and they were very accommodating to requests. You will see a huge selection of wildlife on Grimsey, including, Golden Plover, Arctic Tern, Puffin, ...
Great photos of Brown Bears and cubs
The week-long, two-centre trip to photograph Brown Bears and their cubs in Finland provided fantastic opportunities to observe and photograph these magnificent predators in a variety of settings and light conditions. They were as close as 2m on some occasions. The playful cubs were of course particularly photogenic. Guides Johnny Södergård and Anna Wikén were knowledgeable and excellent company. A couple of things: 1) Don't expect luxury – you stay overnight in a hide with a bucket for a toilet, 2) You will finish the week needing a good sleep! Was it worth it? Definitely!
Wildlife Photography - Bears
Trip was well organised with good communication in a timely manner. Focus was on photography as the main purpose. Excellent locations. 14 hours in hides overnight is not for the faint hearted but perfect and necessary for keen photographers looking for the best pictures. You will not be disappointed.
My experience at the NaturesLens…
My experience at the NaturesLens Wildlife of Zimanga photography holiday was simply amazing. The accommodation was luxurious and provided a perfect retreat between photography sessions. Pui Hang's guidance was invaluable; her expertise and enthusiasm added a whole new dimension to the wildlife encounters. Speaking of which, the wildlife encounters were truly breathtaking - from majestic lions to imposing elephants, each moment felt like a scene from a wildlife documentary. This trip was a dream come true for any nature lover and photographer! Furthermore, I have been to many more safaris but I must say that I found this photographic ...
Puffins on Skomer Island
I joined the NaturesLens tour to Skomer Island to photograph the Puffin population there. The island and wildlife have a real wow factor themselves, but the professional yet relaxed approach taken by Natureslens guide, Robin, really made the experience. Robin was very attentive and generous in his advice, but there were also plenty of opportunties to do your own thng, to get the most out of your time. I will defintely be booking with Natureslens again
