Our Medium graded trips are designed for wildlife photographers who are comfortable with active field days, varied terrain, & adapting quickly to changing light & behaviour. You may need to walk a little further, reposition without much notice, or remain standing & alert for extended periods. There are no extreme hikes or technical challenges – but these are not leisurely sightseeing days either. Conditions can be demanding as well as the terrain. This may include prolonged sub-zero temperatures in Japan or sustained dry heat in destinations such as Morocco. You should be confident working your camera outdoors for several hours at a time, with reasonable mobility, steady balance, & the stamina to stay focused in variable weather. If you are seeking minimal walking or guaranteed comfort, a lower grading may be more appropriate. Medium-graded trips typically include: Short to moderate walks between photographic locations, often on uneven or natural ground Extended time in the field waiting for behaviour, light, or activity to develop – sometimes in cold, heat, or wind Flexible repositioning to respond to wildlife movement or changing conditions Early starts or later finishes to make the most of the best photographic light This medium grade suits photographers who are comfortable carrying their equipment, spending longer periods outdoors, & adapting to the rhythm of wildlife rather than a fixed sightseeing schedule. Easy – Gentle Adventures, Easy – Gentle Adventures, Accessible to Most, & Hard – Challenging Terrain for Active Explorers
