African Buffalo at Maasai Mara
The Maasai Mara National Reserve, sitting within southwestern Kenya as the northern reach of the Serengeti ecosystem, offers a fitting backdrop for encounters with African Buffalo among its open grasslands, scattered acacia woodland and riverine forest along the Mara. Travelling with African Wildlife of the Maasai Mara in October, photographers can make the most of this landscape to frame these formidable herd animals against the reserve's characteristic terrain. The mix of open plains and wooded river margins provides varied settings for composing images, from wide grassland vistas to tighter shots amid the acacia cover. It's a location well suited to building a considered portfolio of this iconic species within its Mara surroundings.
