Arctic Tern at Fair Isle
Fair Isle's isolated position in the North Sea, forming the southernmost outpost between Orkney and Shetland, makes it a fitting stage for photographing the Arctic Tern each June. The island's dramatic coastal scenery, with its towering sea cliffs and rugged sandstone stacks, provides a striking natural backdrop against which to frame this species. Those joining the Atlantic Puffins of Fair Isle holiday will find themselves well placed to work this remote terrain, camera in hand, amid some of Scotland's most memorable coastal landscapes.
