About this species
The Tibetan Gazelle is a slender, medium-sized antelope native to the Tibetan Plateau. It is well adapted to high-altitude environments, typically found at elevations between 3,000 and 5,750 metres. Males possess distinctive ridged, upright horns, while both sexes display a pale buff-brown coat with a conspicuous white rump patch.

Photography notes
Early morning & late afternoon during summer months (June to August) offer the best light & most active behaviour. The rutting season in December can also provide dramatic behavioural shots, though conditions are harsh.
Use a long telephoto lens of at least 400mm to photograph these wary animals without disturbing them, as they are easily startled on open terrain. Approach slowly & keep a low profile against the ground to avoid spooking the herd, taking advantage of natural landforms for concealment. Shoot during the golden hour when the warm light accentuates the gazelle's coat colour & contrasts beautifully against the vast plateau landscape.
