Bearded Bellbird at Northern Range
The Northern Range, that forested mountain ridge stretching across the length of northern Trinidad, offers photographers access to its rainforest interior via the Asa Wright Nature Centre and the Blanchisseuse Road. Alongside an outstanding concentration of hummingbirds and honeycreepers, manakins and trogons, the elusive bearded bellbird can be found here, making patience and a keen ear essential companions to the camera. Those joining the Tropical Birds Of Trinidad holiday in April will find this ridge one of the trip's key locations for tracking down this distinctive, well-named species.
