Norway Wildlife Photography Holidays & Tours
Norway is one of the destinations for our European wildlife photography tours.
NaturesLens runs small-group wildlife photography holidays in Norway, led by Alison Jenkins. The trip is built around Arctic Foxes, Arctic Hares & seabirds on the Varanger Peninsula. The current trip is Winter Wildlife of Arctic Varanger (6 nights). Groups are limited to six photographers, & single occupancy is included on current departures. Why Photograph Wildlife in Norway Our Winter Wildlife of Arctic Varanger trip takes place in April on the coast of the Varanger Peninsula in Arctic Norway, when the shoreline is still frozen & the landscape is Arctic winter. The subjects include Arctic Fox, Arctic Hare, Gyrfalcon, King Eider, Long-tailed Duck & Common Eider, alongside coastal seabirds such as Black Guillemot, Black-legged Kittiwake & Glaucous Gull. Photographic Conditions Snow-covered coastlines create high-contrast scenes that reward careful exposure, so watch your histogram & use exposure compensation for white subjects against bright snow. Arctic light is limited at the edges of the day, so a camera with good high-ISO performance helps. Photography Themes Norway offers outstanding opportunities for wildlife photography, with the chance to photograph species such as Arctic Fox, Arctic Hare, Gyrfalcon, Golden Eagle, Sea Otter, Harbour Seal, Red Fox, White-tailed Eagle, Whooper Swan, Rock Ptarmigan, Willow Ptarmigan, Northern Gannet & Great Skua. These highlighted species represent only a small part of the wildlife found across the area, with many more species present depending on habitat, region & seasonal conditions. Trips in Norway are led by our team of photographers, including Alison Jenkins, offering experienced guidance throughout. Photography themes commonly associated with Norway include Arctic wildlife. For the wider regional programme, see our Europe wildlife photography tours hub.
