Best time

Early morning during the wet season from October to March, when the species is most active & vocal, making it easier to locate by call.

Approach

Move slowly & quietly along forest trails as this species is easily disturbed and will retreat into dense undergrowth. Position yourself low to the ground to capture eye-level shots that emphasise its vivid colours & natural forest setting. Use a fast shutter speed to freeze movement in the low-light conditions of the forest floor, and bring a lens with good low-light performance.
