Who We Are
NaturesLens creates wildlife photography holidays for photographers who value time, access, & intent over box-ticking itineraries. Our trips are built around meaningful time in the field, thoughtful pacing, & repeat photographic opportunity, allowing you to refine compositions, respond to behaviour, & work with light rather than chasing fleeting moments.
We work with small groups, prioritise ethical wildlife encounters, & design each itinerary to maximise time on task. That means fewer long drives at the wrong times of day, fewer rushed sightings, & more opportunities to return to productive locations when conditions are right.
Whether you are building a portfolio or simply want to come home with images you are proud of, our focus is always the same: to put you in the right place, at the right time, with the space to photograph properly.
Why We Do What We Do
Wildlife photography rewards patience, understanding, & presence. Too many photography tours try to compress that process, offering constant movement & novelty at the expense of meaningful photographic results.
We believe great wildlife images come from slowing down, observing behaviour, & returning again & again as light, weather, & activity evolve. Our holidays are designed to give you that space, supported by experienced guidance that helps you make the most of every opportunity without dictating how you should shoot.
Ethics matter to us. We avoid pressure on wildlife, respect seasonal sensitivities, & work only with partners who share the same values. Long-term sustainability, both for wildlife & for local communities, underpins every destination we choose.
Our Story
NaturesLens was founded as a deliberate alternative to crowded, generic wildlife tours. From the beginning, the aim was simple: create photography-first holidays that prioritise access, trust, & repeat opportunity over rigid schedules & large group sizes.
Over more than a decade of running wildlife photography holidays, we have refined our approach by returning to the same regions season after season. This continuity allows us to understand local conditions, build deep relationships with guides & lodge owners, & continuously improve itineraries based on real field experience.
Many of our guests travel with us repeatedly, returning to familiar destinations or joining us somewhere new, confident that the same principles apply every time. That trust has been built slowly, through consistency, transparency, & delivering what we promise.
Founders
NaturesLens was co-founded by David & Pui Hang Miles, combining decades of field experience, logistical planning, & a shared belief that wildlife photography holidays should be fun, considered, & genuinely rewarding. Their approach is shaped by years spent photographing wildlife across multiple continents, working closely with local guides, & understanding what photographers actually need in the field rather than what looks good on a brochure.
Our Guides & Leaders
The quality of a wildlife photography holiday is defined by the people leading it. We work with a small, trusted team of photographic guides who understand light, animal behaviour, & field craft, & who know how to support photographers of mixed experience without compromising the overall shooting opportunities.
Our leaders are there to help you see possibilities, refine technique, & respond to conditions in real time. Guidance is always available, but never intrusive. You are encouraged to develop your own vision while benefiting from the collective experience of the group.
Our holidays & tours are always led by an experienced member of our guiding team, typically Alison Jenkins, Conny Lundstrom, Dan Trim, David Miles, Ian Roberts, Johnny Sodergard, NaturesLens, Pui Hang Miles, or Robin Lowry.
Where We Work
We operate globally, in Africa, Asia, Central America, Europe, North America, & South America, but never generically. Each destination is chosen because it delivers sustained photographic opportunity, seasonal reliability, & the right logistics to keep you in productive locations when wildlife activity & light are at their best.
Rather than constantly adding new locations, we focus on destinations where we can genuinely add value through knowledge, access, & established relationships on the ground.
We currently run wildlife photography holidays & tours in many countries worldwide, including Botswana, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, India, Japan, Kenya, Morocco, Norway, Peru, Poland, Romania, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, Tibet, & United States.
