Our Team Shapes Our Tour Calendar

At NaturesLens, our team shapes our tour calendar – not fixed departures or availability-led scheduling. Our photography holidays are designed around the guides who lead them, with each member of our team bringing season-specific knowledge, refined photographic experience, & a strong understanding of how to work with light, wildlife behaviour, & access in their specialist locations.

We do not rotate guides to fill dates. Instead, our team shapes our tour calendar by following wildlife behaviour, seasonal conditions, & genuine photographic opportunity, ensuring each trip runs only when the right guide’s strengths align precisely with the environment, subjects, & time of year.

Alison Jenkins

Winter Wildlife, Arctic Light & Seabird Specialisms

Alison is one of our most experienced winter wildlife specialists, guiding photographers in cold, high-latitude environments where light, weather, & animal behaviour demand patience & precision.

Her work focuses on clean winter compositions, controlled hide-based encounters, & seabird photography in challenging conditions. Alison is particularly adept at helping photographers work methodically with minimal backgrounds, subtle light shifts, & repeatable behaviour.

She is deployed almost exclusively during the winter & early summer windows, where her experience delivers the strongest photographic outcomes.

Key specialisms

  • Winter wildlife photography
  • Arctic & sub-Arctic environments
  • Seabirds in snow & low light
  • Behaviour-led hide photography

Pui Hang Miles

Carnivores, Big Cats & Behaviour-Led Photography

Pui Hang’s guiding focuses on species where behaviour, anticipation, & field positioning matter more than chance. Her work spans winter carnivores, Asian big cats, & African wildlife, often in environments where encounters are earned rather than guaranteed.

She is particularly skilled at working with photographers on timing, body language, & storytelling – helping clients move beyond record shots towards images that communicate behaviour & context.

Her deployments cluster around winter & shoulder seasons, when animal movement is more predictable & photographic conditions are at their best.

Key specialisms

  • Big cats & large carnivores
  • Winter mammal behaviour
  • Hide-based & vehicle-based safaris
  • Behavioural storytelling in wildlife photography

David Miles

Complex Itineraries, Long-Form Trips & Field Leadership

David’s guiding spans a wide range of environments, but his core strength lies in complex, multi-location itineraries where logistics, access, & timing must work seamlessly to protect time in the field.

He frequently leads longer trips & destinations where photographic opportunities unfold slowly, requiring adaptability, experience, & decisive field leadership. David’s role often combines guiding with real-time itinerary management, ensuring photographers remain focused on photography rather than logistics.

He is typically deployed on trips where experience & judgement are critical to outcomes.

Key specialisms

  • Long-duration wildlife photography holidays
  • Complex logistics & remote locations
  • Leadership-focused guiding
  • Behaviour-led multi-species itineraries

Countries guided

Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Hungary, Japan, Kenya, Madagascar, Morocco, Peru, Poland, Tanzania, Tibet, Trinidad & Tobago, & the United States

Ian Roberts

Bird Photography & Extended Field Time

Ian specialises in bird-focused photography holidays, particularly where extended time in varied habitats allows photographers to build portfolios rather than chase isolated encounters.

His guiding style emphasises observation, positioning, & light management, helping photographers work slowly & deliberately with species across wetlands, forests, & open landscapes.

Ian’s deployments often align with spring & summer bird seasons, when access & behaviour are at their most productive.

Key specialisms

  • Bird photography across multiple habitats
  • Extended, portfolio-led trips
  • Fieldcraft & subject approach
  • Seasonal bird behaviour

Robin Lowry

Raptors, Seabirds & Hide-Based Photography

Robin’s work focuses on precision photography, often from hides or fixed positions where timing, light, & composition are critical. He is particularly known for guiding raptor & seabird photography, helping photographers maximise short windows of peak behaviour.

His trips are typically scheduled in well-defined seasonal windows, where experience with specific sites & species makes the difference between occasional success & consistent results.

Key specialisms

  • Raptors & birds of prey
  • Seabirds & breeding colonies
  • Hide-based wildlife photography
  • Behaviour prediction & timing

Conny Lundström

Scandinavian Raptors & Northern Winter Wildlife

Conny is a highly specialised guide whose work centres on northern European raptors in winter conditions. His deep familiarity with specific locations, individual birds, & seasonal patterns allows photographers close, ethical access to some of Scandinavia’s most iconic species.

He is deployed only during the narrow windows when these conditions align.

Key specialisms

  • Golden & White-tailed eagles
  • Scandinavian winter environments
  • Hide-based raptor photography
  • Cold-weather fieldcraft

Johnny Södergård

Finnish Brown Bears & Forest Hide Photography

Johnny’s guiding is tightly focused on Finland’s forest ecosystems, where bear photography from hides requires quiet discipline, patience, & an understanding of subtle behaviour.

His role is deliberately narrow, ensuring photographers benefit from deep local knowledge rather than generalist guiding.

Key specialisms

  • Brown bears of Finland
  • Forest hide photography
  • Low-impact wildlife encounters
  • Close-range mammal portraits

Why do our guides shape our calendar?

Because, we operate when wildlife behaviour, photographic conditions, & guide expertise align – & we choose not to run trips when they do not. This approach keeps our groups small, our guiding focused, & our photography holidays consistent in quality year after year.
