This wildlife photography holiday blends iconic species, intimate locations & comfortable single-occupancy stays across the vibrant landscapes of Costa Rica in the heart of Central America. Travelling in November places you in a beautiful season, with softer light, lush forests & lively wildlife behaviour, making this an inspiring introduction to one of the world’s richest photographic destinations.
This wildlife photography holiday captures the highlights of Costa Rica in a focused eight-day format, perfect for photographers seeking a high-impact schedule without compromising on photographic excellence. You will work in cool cloud forest valleys, quiet river corridors & warmer Caribbean lowlands as you photograph resplendent quetzals, king vultures, aracari, toucans, hummingbirds, colourful tree frogs & an extraordinary mix of tropical species. Each location has been selected for light, background opportunities & reliable wildlife activity, ensuring that every session feels productive, rewarding & creatively energising.
Throughout this wildlife photography holiday you will benefit from the small-group atmosphere that NaturesLens is known for, combined with the warm & experienced guidance of David. You can expect clear advice on approaching each scene, refining your compositions, working with fast-moving subjects & managing light in challenging forest environments. November yields misty mornings, glowing edges of rainforest foliage & dramatic shafts of light after showers, all of which provide opportunities to produce atmospheric imagery filled with depth, colour & character.

The Essential Costa Rican Wildlife Photography Tour is a distilled version of our longer itinerary, carefully designed by David to deliver the key species, signature habitats & photographic opportunities in a focused timeframe. If you would prefer a more expansive journey with additional locations, extended hide sessions & greater variety, we also offer the Ultimate Costa Rican Wildlife Photography Holiday, which provides the most immersive experience we run in Costa Rica. Both tours deliver superb wildlife encounters, but the Essential serves as the perfect option for photographers seeking maximum impact within a shorter schedule.
While the Ultimate Costa Rican Wildlife Photography Tour offers our most extensive exploration of the country’s diverse habitats, many photographers also appreciate the precision & focus of the shorter Essential Costa Rican Wildlife Photography Holiday. Designed by David, the Essential itinerary distils the core species, signature locations & photographic highlights into a compact format, making it ideal for those with limited time or for anyone wishing to sample the magic of Costa Rica before returning for a longer adventure. Both tours stand strongly on their own, offering superb opportunities to build a varied & rewarding portfolio.
