Wildlife of the Masai Mara, Kenya
There is nowhere on Earth quite like the Masai Mara. An ocean of golden grass stretching to the horizon, cut through by the crocodile-filled Mara River, and home to the densest concentration of lions on the planet. The Mara’s famous resident prides have been studied for decades, and their ease around vehicles means extraordinary access — cubs at play, lionesses coordinating a hunt at first light, coalitions of brothers surveying their territory from a termite mound at golden hour. This is the Africa of your imagination, and we put you right in the middle of it.
Beyond lions, the Mara ecosystem delivers cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffalo, hippos and a supporting cast of predators and prey that makes every game drive unpredictable. We use private 4x4s — not shared minibuses — so you control where you stop, how long you stay, and where your lens points.
Elephants of the Chobe River, Botswana
The Chobe River forms the border between Botswana and Namibia, and at dusk every evening it stages one of Africa’s greatest wildlife spectacles: hundreds of elephants converging on the water to drink, bathe, play and socialise. This is the largest elephant population on the continent, and the definitive way to photograph them is from a boat — low to the water, silent, drifting to exactly the right position as bulls cross the current chest-deep and calves learn to swim in the shallows.
Away from the river, Chobe National Park offers buffalo, lion, leopard and sable antelope across sweeping floodplains. Our itineraries balance time on the water with game drives into the park, giving you the full breadth of one of southern Africa’s premier wildlife destinations.
